Pension Benefits Administrator – Toronto.

Process pension benefit calculations for retirements, deaths, terminations, disability credits and quotations within provincial regulatory guidelines.

Regular duties include the maintenance of system records for all files processed; conduct Pre-Retirement Information Sessions for plan members; respond to inquiries and provide guidance to insurance companies, union locals, members and strategic partners within a confidential environment; other projects as required.

The incumbent will report to the Manager of Pensions and must be able to meet all deadlines, perform well under pressure and work professionally with all contacts including management, staff, actuaries and auditors.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Post secondary degree/diploma in business, or equivalent experience
  2. Five years business experience in a related field and prior experience with pension benefits
  3. Sound knowledge of pension plan rules and the interpretation and application of these rules.
  4. Working knowledge of federal and provincial legislation and income tax rules and regulations.
  5. Superior customer service skills including excellent oral and written communication and able to work well in a team environment.
  6. Superior organizational skills.
  7. Must be a self starter, able to work well under pressure.
  8. Knowledge of and aptitude for mathematics.
  9. Must be computer literate and able to work well with word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  10. Working towards achieving a related designation such as PPAC and/or CEBS is considered an asset.
