Property Claims Manager

Comma Recruitment are looking for a talented  Property Claims Unit Manager, you will be responsible for managing and co-ordinating internal, external and independent claims adjusters’ claims processing activities in order to meet profitability objectives, turnaround time and customer satisfaction.

Organize, plan and supervise your team, optimizing use of staff, financial and material resources, while encouraging teamwork and providing guidance for technical training

Achieve corporate and regional objectives by measuring the team’s performance, ensuring the quality of the claims handling process; and adhere to standards, procedures and productivity levels required

Make decisions for the Claims department regarding claims handling and payment

Assist with preparing the budget and provide follow-ups, updates and reports for management

Assist in improving operational processes

 

Comma Recruitment require 3-5 years property claims experience with leadership and /or management experience.

College / University degree

Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation an asset

Leadership, analytical, planning and organizational skills

Strong communication skills and ability to adapt easily to change

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and computer tools

Senior Service Broker, VIP Personal Lines Clients  $50,000 + Bonus and Commission

Comma Recruitment are looking for a Senior Service Broker to provide exemplary customer service to VIP and Large Clients, who have home and auto policies and typically but not exclusively, Commercial accounts.

• Act as primary contact with clients for service issues and general concerns;
• Provide service by telephone, or at client request, at the client’s home or business location;
• Participate in review of client accounts on an annual basis, at the time of the renewal;
• General client service, including contacting company underwriters, and with other involved staff, such as Account Executives and Account Managers in other departments;
• Completion of processing tasks related to policies & endorsements utilizing required forms;
• Alert team members and other staff (including Management) to service or claims issues requiring action or client communication;
• Remain alert for opportunities to up-sell coverage (such as optional accident benefits, valuable articles, claims protection, umbrella coverage);
• If an insurer issues a non-renewal, offer alternative coverage, if appropriate;
• Review all documents received from insurers (renewals, endorsements, cancellations) and Bill all transactions;
• Renewals to be processed a minimum of 40 days prior to renewal data;
• Maintain complete and accurate client activity notes;
• Maintain current and up to date voice mail log books;
• Return voice mail messages as per Service guidelines (2 hours);
• Maintain suspense and keep current (within 5 days).

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• R.I.B.O. license required.
• 3 – 5 years successful customer service experience in a general insurance brokerage
• Familiarity with Keal products (i.e. SigXp) considered an asset
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively for high net worth individuals and families

Casualty Claims Manager – Mississauga

Comma Recruitment are looking for an experienced claims adjuster with management experience. As a Casualty Claims Manager you will be responsible for managing the successful operation of our Casualty Automobile tort and non-automobile tort teams.

•Participate in the development and implementation of business plans and manage day-to-day operations to achieve key business goals

•Assists Director to develop policies, strategies, budgets, and long term and short term plans to facilitate ongoing work, process improvement, customer relations and other functions.

•Monitor financial performance and productivity and reports monthly to appropriate stakeholders on progress up against specific goals and objectives.

•Develop, recommend, and implement strategies for loss containment such as legal and other   expenses and early settlement of claims where appropriate.

•Provide effective leadership, motivate staff and be responsible for hiring and terminations, coaching and mentoring subordinates, performance management, continuous learning and career development for managers and other staff.

•Develop, recommend and implement management and/or organizational initiatives to support company strategies including changes to organizational structure and process/technology improvements

•Act in a consultative and advisory capacity on claims matters such as: liability determination, policy interpretation and settlement negotiation to help resolve claims-related issues

•Liaise with other claims experts on technical and administrative issues

•Maintain a respectful and productive business relationship with vendors, service providers, legal firms and internal client groups

Experience and Qualifications required

•College diploma or university degree

•Completed or are working toward a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation

•A minimum of 10 years Claims experience including prior Casualty adjusting experience and two years in a management function.

•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of staff, internal and external customers.

•Experience in coaching and developing staff

•Proficiency in a variety of PC software

•Proven leadership skills

•Excellent customer service skills

•Demonstrated knowledge of Personal/Commercial Lines Automobile and CGL lines of business.
