DISABILITY CLAIMS CASE MANAGER – LTD/ STD

Comma Recruitment are looking for two claims adjudicators to adjudicate and manage short and long term disability claims. Provide efficient and timely service to all key stakeholders.

 

  • Review claim forms, medical reports, investigation reports, contract provisions etc. and determine eligibility of claim
  • Record inbound/outbound communication
  • Provide written and verbal communication to claimants, clients, administrators, doctors, lawyers, other insurers, etc: re: claim inquiries and outcome
  • Review claims with Medical Director and Legal Department as required
  • Assess waiver of premium eligibility
  • Develop and implement return to work strategies
  • Interact and develop good relationship with several stakeholders to facilitate best results

 

Skills and Experience required:

  • 3 – 5 years group claims experience, experience with LTD and STD
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bilingualism in French/English is an asset
  • Excellent customer service
  • Intermediate skills with Word and Excel
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced, performance driven environment
  • Strong planning and organizing skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Analytical thinker with proven problem solving skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly and comfortably to change
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Professional telephone etiquette
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and a desire to succeed
  • Strong team player
  • Prefer one or more industry courses completed or working towards an industry designation (e.g. ALHC, FLMI, GBA)

You will develop, establish and implement training programs to increase the efficiency of the operations.

Additional responsibilities include:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 5 years of insurance experience in underwriting with excess and surplus lines preferred
  • Experience managing or mentoring a team, delivering training and experience presenting to staff a great asset
  • Insurance license preferred
  • Strong organizational skills, communication and computer proficiency

Intermediate Commercial Auto Underwriter – Mississauga

Comma Recruitment have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and ambitious individual with a desire to make a significant growth and profit contribution to a Commercial Automobile Department.

This position will be responsible for underwriting (assessing, evaluating, loss analysis, rating), and issuing of all New Business/Renewals/Endorsements/Cancellations within your assigned areas of accountability in accordance with our corporate guidelines and objectives.

You will also be responsible for training and coaching of junior staff and demonstrating an exemplary level of broker service at all times. You will work closely with our Business Development staff to develop and maintain positive business relationships with our Broker partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce and underwrite new fleets, garages and commercial auto lines of business on a profitable basis, within service standards in accordance with company guidelines and within assigned authority
  • Maintain in-force policies and ensure all policies are issued within service standards with the appropriate wordings, schedules, and certificates attached
  • Record underwriting information for the purpose of evaluation, assessment, and profitability;
  • Negotiate Facultative Reinsurance and process as required, within assigned authority and maintain facultative closings and certificates;
  • Assist with training and coaching of other staff as required;
  • Market our insurance products and services to Brokers through presentations;
  • Foster good broker relationships by Broker visits to promote our products;

Required Experience, Qualifications and Expectations:

  • Minimum 2 years of underwriting experience (commercial automobile experience preferred; equivalent experience an asset).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and superb time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.
  • Accountability, customer-centric thinking, teamwork and a commitment to excellence.
  • Enjoy working with our Broker partners to establish professional relationships to achieve our growth and profit goals.
  • Professional, friendly, and courteous in all interactions with external and internal customers.
  • Computer literacy is required with working knowledge of Microsoft products and a comfort level with a company operating system.
  • Possess a valid Ontario driver’s license and be capable of completing company travel as required.
  • A University/College Diploma or equivalent is required, as well as completion of or working towards CIP/FCIP designation
