Underwriting Trainer – P&C with Specialty Lines Experience

This position reports to the Underwriting Director, a wonderful opportunity to train and mentor junior/intermediate Underwriters.

Comma Recruitment are looking for a Commercial Underwriter to train and develop and provide ongoing support to a team of Commercial Property and Casualty Underwriters, any experience underwriting specialty lines and hard to place risks is a real asset.

Must be a confident presenter with teaching / education experience as well as having tremendous system knowledge /IT skills

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years underwriting experience
• College or university degree or equivalent work experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Working towards, or have attained, the CIP / FCIP designation
• Superb presentation skills, training or education experience an asset

Accurately identify exposures/risks associated with prospects operations and or gaps in existing coverage and present risk management and or insurance solutions to address them.

Gather underwriting information from prospects, prepare submissions and secure the best terms available from the markets for quotes through negotiations.

Develop relationships with underwriters to ensure timely issuance of documentation and best terms are made available.
