Senior PHP Developer

Comma Recruitment are looking for an experienced PHP Developer with a strong understanding of object oriented software development with PHP. Capable of working on the whole stack, you will have experience with both front and back end technologies, and will be able to read, understand, and question design specifications, as well as be able to identify and improve the application.

 

Job responsibilities:

• Participate in all aspects of development life cycle
• Determine development feasibility within identified constraints.
• Evaluate and recommend options, software and tools which can help to achieve project targets.
• Create technical specifications based on business requirements
• Write clean, well designed code following industry best practices
• Work closely with Quality Assurance to track down and resolve reported issues
• Coach and mentor junior team members.
• Contribute and promote software best practices and processes across the team.
• Participate actively in code reviews.
• Provide continuous technical support to your teammates.
• Participate in preparing and deploying product releases

Must Have Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in CompSci, or Mathematics, or Engineering – (5+year)
• Must communicate with technical and Business users – (7+year)
• Object Oriented PHP 5/7 – (7+years)
• Database schema design and optimization (MSSQL) – (5+year)
• At least 5+ years’ experience developing web applications using PHP 5/7, SQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Front-end development, particularly HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• JQuery, AJAX – (5+year)
• MVC framework – (5+year)
• Version Control Systems (Git) – (5+year)
• Custom framework design – (5+year)
• Familiarity with AWS
• Good understanding of LAMP (where M is Microsoft SQL)
• Experience with load balancing, firewalls
• Some experience in management of Linux servers in virtualized environments (Amazon Linux AMI)
• Basic knowledge of Linux scripting languages

Other Qualifications

• Knowledgeable in Responsive Design concepts, CSS3, HTML5
• Experienced in creating and consuming various API’s.
• Deep architectural understanding of web applications
• Ability to understand business needs and communicate with various stakeholders
• Ability to be organized and work both independently and in teams to meet deadlines and exceed expectations
• Demonstrated ability to refine and improve existing solutions, providing insight to emerging technologies and practices
• Exceptional analytical and organizational skills, out-of-the-box thinker
• Experience with custom framework design
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Passionate about application architecture, optimization and security
• Able to dive into core mechanism of existing frameworks, understand, and create patches and/or customizations
