Comma Recruitment are looking for an experienced Property Claims Field Adjuster, you will be responsible for handling relatively complex property damage claims in the field, utilizing your excellent communication skills, and meeting service standards when settling claims and investigating losses. You will:
- Investigate relatively complex property claims in a timely and respectful manner through communication with customers, appraisers, adjusters and any other related parties
- Collect reports and statements to determine liability and coverage
- Develop an action plan for conducting investigations
- Negotiate with customers, claimants, lawyers, and insurance clients to settle claims
- Attends court proceedings, hearings or alternative dispute resolutions, as required, to provide information on claims
- Maintain current knowledge of insurance products, as well as appraisal or investigation techniques and services
- Identify process improvement needs and recommend changes to policies or procedures to maintain quality service and competitiveness
Your Skills
- A college diploma or a university degree preferred (or equivalent business experience)
- Completed or are working toward a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation
- 3 to 5 years of Property Claims handling experience
- Strong customer service and written communication skills
- Technical expertise at least partly acquired through direct field experience, in the investigation, assessment and settlement of property casualty claims
- Expertise in personal lines and commercial lines products
- Expertise in the principles of contracts and contract law
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record as a vehicle is provided

Technical Claims Specialist – Casualty / Liability $75,000 – $85,000
Comma Recruitment are looking for a Technical Claims Specialist to provide efficient and prompt investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement of larger size and/or increasingly complex claims in accordance with corporate guidelines and best practices.
The Technical Specialist is a key technical expert within the claim unit and can support their teams from a technical perspective.
Responsibilities
Investigate, appraise/scope, confirm coverage, negotiate settlement and recovery, and conduct reporting and documentation of claims of larger size and/or increased complexity in accordance with established guidelines.
• Ensure the accurate and efficient payment of claims.
• Prepare files for referral to litigation unit when settlement cannot be achieved or is inappropriate.
• Adhere to service standards by communicating effectively with all parties involved.
• Develop relationships with other departments such as underwriting in order to meet business goals.
• Assist Manager with preparing/completing monthly statistical reports.
• Understand and apply best business practices towards compliance, internal control and operational risk controls in accordance to national standards and regulatory standards and policies.
• Mentor and coach less experienced claims and support staff.
• Work collaboratively with Supervisors and/or Managers on special projects and assignments requiring advanced technical skills and knowledge when required.

As a Customer Service Representative you will need to be skilled in case management, problem resolution and the delivery of a positive customer experience. The CSR responds to inquiries via phone or electronic media and must use active listening, probing, play-back, and style-matching skills to evaluate the customer’s needs.
The CSR navigates in a Windows based system through a series of databases in order to access the appropriate information to service the customer. For lengthy or complex questions, the CSR researches the information and calls the customer back as required. Research can involve a number of resources, including use of online databases, reviewing documents/call flows or requesting assistance from internal support areas.
Qualifications:
- 1+ years experience in customer service, call centre or contact centre environment
- Must be fluently bilingual in French and English
- Genuine desire and commitment to serving customers
- Refined communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills

Comma Recruitment are looking for a Technical Claims Specialist, responsible for providing efficient and prompt investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement of larger size and/or increased complexity claims in accordance with corporate guidelines and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Confirm coverage, investigate, negotiate settlement and document claims of larger size and complexity in accordance with established guidelines.
- Review available information and establish, maintain and recommend appropriate reserve, payment, and or settlement.
- Ensure the accurate and efficient payment of claims.
- Identify fraud indicators
- Prepare and summarize files for litigation and mediation/arbitration.
- Establish and monitor litigation disposition plans, completed by counsel, to ensure claims file handling strategies are being followed. Direct activities of defence counsel to ensure files are handled within litigation guidelines.
- Establish and monitor litigation expense budgets with counsel and ensure that litigation expenses follow budgets.
- Participate in disposition programs (ie. Settlement conferences, committee file review, mediations, arbitrations) as required.
- Adhere to service standards by communicating effectively with all parties involved and develop relationships with other departments in order to meet business goals.
- Provide superior customer service / communication with insured.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education and / or equivalent on the job experience
- Minimum 5-10 years of casualty claims adjusting with litigation and CGL experience. Experience with E&O, D&O and Liability Claims.
- Actively pursuing CIP/FCIP designation
- Working knowledge of the company principles and practices related to claims settlement, policy wordings, insurance contracts, fraud investigations, serious losses and coverage questions.
- Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy and understanding in dealings with customers and provide prompt, efficient, and courteous service to all parties involved.
