STD/LTD Claims Adjudicator – Bilingual

Intermediate ($60k – $65) and Senior Roles Available ($70,000 +)

Comma Recruitment are looking for intermediate and senior Bilingual Disability Claim Adjudicators, you will review, assess and processes claims for applicable benefits using the technical knowledge obtained from the policies, procedural manuals, and industry and government communications.

 

Working in a team environment you will utilize your strong verbal and written communication skills when interacting with clients, claimants, and all relevant stakeholders.  The incumbent must be able to work independently with little supervision, possess the ability to distinguish priorities and adapt well to change.  The individual must work well under pressure and maintain production requirements.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Processes and manages all Weekly Income Claims paid directly, establishing eligibility, calculation of earnings and benefit levels, along with obtaining the necessary medical evidence.
  • Ensures all necessary documentation is provided to the insurance carrier in order for them to process any claims submitted to them for adjudication.
  • Ensures all claims are processed in date order, by automatically assisting other examiners in the processing of their assigned plan(s) when their own client base in good order.
  • Maintains daily production requirements as determined by the Manager.
  • Liaises in a professional manner with insurance agencies, doctors, trustees, members, management, lawyers and all other stakeholders, ensuring that only allowable information is released to recognized recipients and that all information is released in writing.
  • Responsible for bilingual communication both oral and written. This includes French to English translation.
  • Keeps abreast of industry and government requirements.
  • Maintains confidentiality over client and corporate records and medical claims information.
  • Operates priority claims payment database and is able to perform manual calculations as required.
  • Keeps the Manager aware of problems or areas of concern that require special attention.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  1. Minimum one years related STD / LTD experience. Three years experience for senior candidates
  2. Must have experience adjudicating complex disability claims cases, from a group insurance environment
  3. Must possess excellent customer service skills, be team oriented and cooperative with co-workers, consultants and departments
  4. Bilingual fluency is required (English/French)
  5. Excellent analytical and letter writing skills, with attention to detail and accuracy

Intermediate AB Adjuster – Mississauga

Comma Recruitment are looking for an intermediate AB Adjuster, you will be responsible for investigating, negotiating and settling minor to moderate Accident Benefits claims.

Responsibilities:

  • Confirm valid coverage.
  • Fully investigate and verify claims under Ontario’s S.A.B.S.
  • Fully investigate minor to moderate injuries.
  • Provide instruction and direction to internal and external vendors i.e.: independent adjusters, rehabilitation firms, translation firms, investigation firms, legal counsel
  • Calculate ultimate probable exposure and reserve accordingly.
  • Properly maintain a diary system to monitor files.
  • Ensure files are up to date with A.B. packages and forms, medical information, employment information and treatment information.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

Ideally 2 years Accident Benefits full file handling and adjusting experience, we would be open to a talented Junior AB with 12 months claims experience

Knowledge of regulatory and contractual obligations, medical terminology, vocational rehabilitation concepts and the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule.

Detail oriented and well organized individual.

Strong oral and written communication skills and superb interpersonal skills.

Work well individually and as a part of a team.

Computer literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Office and related programs

High School Diploma or equivalent and University or College Degree; have started on or are interested in working towards the CIP designation.

This position will be responsible for underwriting, (assessing, evaluating, loss analysis, rating), and issuing of all New Business/Renewals/Endorsements/Cancellations within your assigned areas of accountability in accordance with our corporate guidelines and objectives.

You will also be responsible for training and coaching junior staff and demonstrating an exemplary level of broker service at all times.

You will work closely with our Business Development staff to develop and maintain positive business relationships with our broker partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce and underwrite new fleets, garages and other lines of business on a profitable basis, within service standards in accordance with company guidelines and within assigned authority
  • Maintain in-force policies and ensure all policies are issued within service standards with the appropriate wordings, schedules, and certificates attached;
  • Record underwriting information for the purpose of evaluation, assessment, and profitability;
  • Negotiate Facultative Reinsurance and process as required, within assigned authority and maintain facultative closings and certificates;
  • Assist with training and coaching of other staff as required;
  • Market our insurance products and services to Brokers through presentations;
  • Foster good broker relationships by Broker visits to promote our products;
  • Additional duties as assigned;

 

 

 REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS, and EXPECTATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial automobile underwriting including senior-level experience in this area.
