Commercial Underwriting Manager.

 

Seeking a talented Commercial and Specialty Lines Underwriting Manager to lead a dynamic team. The successful candidate is a team oriented individual with a positive attitude who will be responsible for managing the profitability and growth of the team’s book of business.

You will develop and coach team members utilizing effective communication skills and creating a positive image. You will also develop growth opportunities while managing relationships with our strategic brokers, to deliver the strategic and operational plan.

The role requires:

Develop and coach staff, providing strategic communication and creating positive change.

Build broker relationships.

Deliver superior customer service.

Contribute to the underwriting results of the Region.

Responsible for profitability and growth for business within your team.

Enhance the skill set of all team members, supporting a high performance culture.

Support corporate initiatives and strategy.

 

Qualifications and qualities required

• Superb Underwriting technical skills in large/complex Commercial Lines

• 5+ years Underwriting experience

• 2+ years experience in management or a leadership role.

• Leadership and coaching ability.

• Positive attitude and good overall business sense.

• Strong communication, negotiation, organization and planning skills.

• Ability to resolve problems and implement appropriate solutions.

• University Degree in a related discipline an advantage.

• Completed CIP/FCIP  or working towards designation
