Manager – Health and Dental Claims  

Comma Recruitment are looking for a Manager, Health & Dental Claims & Central Services, a talented claims adjuster with management experience, 5 years progressive claims experience with management/leadership experience.

You are responsible for the work flow/ operations of the Departments which are in a fast-paced environment, and are deadline oriented, process driven, and customer service sensitive. You will be responsible for coaching, mentoring and continuous process improvement, improving efficiency by identifying improvement opportunities.

The ideal candidate has expert knowledge of the group benefits industry and has hands on experience in all facets of medical, dental and ancillary claims. You will work closely with Team Leaders, staff and all departments to ensure the smooth work flow required in order to meet required department standards, deadlines and targets.

You may be required to step into any role within the department in order to support the team as needed.

You will support and coach the leadership skills of the Team Leads in order to ensure work is prioritized and completed according to service standards. You will effectively deal with staff conflict to achieve satisfactory working relationships, including performance evaluations and career development (training) plans.

As they arise, you will resolve organizational and customer related issues, and respond and act upon problems or areas of concern brought forward by the Team Leaders and staff that require special attention.

Qualifications

  • 4 – 5 years progressive experience in a leadership role, with a minimum of five years experience in a senior role in a claims department
  • Minimum 5 years progressive experience in a group benefits or insurance environment with extensive knowledge of all medical and dental claims
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills with a demonstrated ability to motivate, mentor and develop staff including previous performance management experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including well developed listening skills and ability to provide constructive feedback
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills; must be detail orientated
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and lead process improvement
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities in an environment of continuous change
  • Self motivated, results orientated – takes pride in a successful team
  • Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to prioritize conflicting demands
  • Keeps abreast of Industry trends and related legislative rulings
  • Ability to present well in client meetings.
  • Experience dealing within a contact center environment an asset
