Comma Recruitment are looking for a Bilingual Assistant Manager of Claims (French/English)
This is an opportunity to be a part of an exciting transformation. The Assistant Manager will interact and lead a team of employees within our Claims department.
Assistant Manager, Claims (Salary $75-85K + 3 weeks’ vacation + bonus + benefits, etc)
The Assistant Manager, Claims will be accountable to manage a team of employees and co-lead training and auditing functions concurrently. He/she will provide sound direction and guidance to ensure their team consistently meets production targets and service timelines. Using their strong technical skills they will participate in User Acceptance Testing and represent the department on cross-functional project groups. He/she will be involved with project coordination and actively support the Business Requirement Development process. He/she will build relationship with teams across North American operations and proactively support implementation of process/projects.
Major responsibilities include:
- Provide ongoing training, coaching and supervision to Adjusters and support staff members.
- Assign work, monitor and track service levels, quality performance and productivity metrics.
- Review, approve, or deny claims over Adjuster’s authority level and within company guidelines
- Perform claim audit review in conjunction with Auditor and provide feedback on audit findings
- Coordinate with departments on behalf of the Claims department on claim issues and projects.
- Prepare weekly attendance report and keep departmental attendance records up to date
- Back-up to Claims, Manager and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Completion of University degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an insurance company, including 2 to 3 years at supervisory level.
- Solid knowledge of disability products and previous experience assessing disability claims required.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills in English and French.
- Ability to manage staff and drive teamwork towards a common objective.
- Excellent decision making, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to make prompt, sound decisions and judgement based upon analysis of complex issues.
- Technically savvy and efficient with Microsoft Office and operating systems
- Aptitude for figures and statistics.
- Advance knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to maintain direction and professionalism in high-pressure situations.
- Willingness to embrace change and implement new approaches and ideas.
- Strong work ethic with customer centric focus.
- Demonstrate ability to work within minimum supervision.
