Location : GTA – Clients throughout GTA, some travel required, work from home opportunities.
Position
To drive new business to the company using a variety of methods and techniques, while assisting with ongoing client relationship management. While marketing is one of the job’s primary duties, the position carries a more focused task, specifically, attracting new business by doing service segment presentations to both small and large groups. The business development specialist will help to devise effective introductory strategies into selected organizations and new markets, create client maps, collect/collate market data for the business development team, and execute on defined strategies.
Preferred Education & Experience
Minimum 2- 5 years of business development/marketing experience
Post-secondary education an asset particularly with industry sales experience
Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Driver’s license
Capacity to travel and work flexible hours
Optimal oral and written communication
Enjoys working with high technology

Senior Program Underwriter

Comma Recruitment are currently looking for an Intermediate / Senior Underwriter with experience as a Program Underwriter, exposure to Heath, Education or Social Services is a real asset along with P&C experience.
The Underwriter is responsible for underwriting and servicing moderately complex accounts in accordance with established guidelines and business objectives in the achievement of national standards for data quality and service levels.
- Responsible for the successful evaluation, selection, negotiation, and pricing for assigned policies in order to ensure a profitable book of business within established underwriting authority.
- Develop and maintain a professional relationship with brokers and/or customers to enhance understanding of the target market and to contribute to quality service, problem solving, and risk selection.
- Understand and apply best business practices towards compliance, internal control and operational risk controls in accordance to national standards and regulatory standards and policies.
- Mentor and train less experienced underwriters and support staff.
- Work collaboratively on special projects and assignments when required.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary school education and/or equivalent on the job experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in the property and casualty industry.
- Excellent keyboarding and data entry skills.
- Working knowledge of company underwriting philosophy, policy contracts, rating programs, risk information sources, underwriting/technical manual information, statuary constraints, and computer workflow procedures.
- Ability to work within and adapt to PC oriented environments, including familiarity with email and Internet skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Actively pursuing CIP/FCIP designation.

You will be reviewing medical reports, insurance injury reports and editing for quality and accuracy.
You will also be responsible for file coordination, working with medical professionals and injury clinics.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Director of Medical Claims and Underwriting is a consulting role, a senior level position reporting to the SVP. Excellent salary/consulting opportunity for a senior level medical provider with insurance claims/underwriting experience.
This individual will:
- Act as the Medical expert and render final decisions on medical claims and underwriting applications.
- Work closely with senior management and external physician practices in the resolution of complex, enterprise-wide medical claims in areas such as strokes, cancer, heart attacks and kidney failure.
- Assure the Company is in compliance with all federal, provincial and local laws.
- Conduct periodic teaching conferences for underwriting and claims adjusters on medical topics of interest.
- Assist in the formulation of life, health and disability insurance policies from a medical perspective.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Medical Degree.
- Licensed to practice in Canada
- Board Certified or eligible in Internal Medicine.
- Ability to read and interpret EKG’s, lab reports, stress tests, echocardiograms, etc.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and management.
