Senior Professional Lines Underwriter and Senior Personal Accident Underwriter

Underwrite business on a national basis
• Participate in a highly lucrative sales incentive plan
• Access the breadth of our products and markets
• Use cutting-edge technology to deliver high quality service to agents and agencies

Your role will be to:

• Underwrite new and renewal business for insurance company partners based on underwriting authority and contract guidelines
• Evaluate, classify, and rate each risk to determine acceptability, coverage, and pricing
• Apply appropriate quality underwriting and risk selection on the business quoted
• Develop and submit underwriting referrals, where required, to company brokerage facilities and management
• Manage relationships with branch office producers and respond to requests for coverage on a timely basis
• Have knowledge of or perform computer data entry of quotations, binders and related support documents
• Monitor key metrics, such as, new business hit ratio, renewal retention ratio, premium growth, and loss ratio, formulating corrective action where necessary
• Mentor and train Assistant Underwriters as needed
• Be technologically savvy and data driven

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum three years of Property and Casualty underwriting experience
