Property Claims Director

Comma recruitment are looking for a Property Claims Director to lead a highly engaged team of claim professionals that investigate and settle property and related losses, providing best in class service to our customers while controlling costs and expenses.

  • Reporting to the VP Claims you will provide strategic leadership, direction, coaching and mentoring to a team of dynamic Claims professionals
  • Develop strategy and tactics that deliver business results and implementation of processes and procedures to enhance the service experience
  • Manage complex claims, fraud investigations, catastrophe events and litigation files
  • Provide strategic leadership, direction, coaching and mentoring to a dynamic Claims Team
  • Establish best practices and procedures that drive and support the organization’s ability to meet operational, financial and service requirements
  • Provide data analysis that supports the proactive recognition of adverse trends and development of programs, processes and tactics to address those trends in order to meet targets
  • As part of the Claims Leadership Team, consult, influence and strategize on Claims initiatives
  • Drive positive customer satisfaction by delivering the value proposition defined by the brands through the management of claims handling

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Comma Recruitment are looking for A Property Claims Specialist / Manager with CIP/FCIP designation.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in relevant roles with a minimum of  4+ years of leadership/management roles in a fast paced, collaborative claims environment
  • Post-secondary education in a related field
  • Previous experience in claim adjudication and adjustment as well as experience managing catastrophe events
  • Strong knowledge of personal lines insurance policy contracts
  • Technical experience in both home and automotive physical damage assessment an asset
  • Solid understanding of provincial and federal regulations
  • Proven ability to analyze data and recommend solutions
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to present information in an organized, logical and effective manner to a wide variety of audiences
  • Excellent leadership skills to develop and manage a team of direct and indirect reports
  • Ability to travel for business and work outside of regular business hours is required due to the management of catastrophe events
